Today a meeting of the Health and Safety Working group was held at Hounslow Police Station.
The Meeting consisted of Representations from Hounslow Council, London Fire Service, The Metropolitan Police, John Laing Integrated Services (JLIS) Traffic management, Licensing and the Philippine Centre ( Depal Dissanayaka, Nona Tomelden, Joseph Parinas, Adam Mitchell and Peter Wylde.)
The meeting agreed to offer Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th September as an alternative date for the Philippine Centre to hold the 24th annual Barrio Fiesta sa London in Lampton park Hounslow, Middlesex.
There was a consensus to assist the Filipino community in preparing for the legal Health and Safety requirements that the event licence would require.
The Philippine Centre representatives held a discussion afterwards with the Fire Service where they pointed out the improvements in the Event safety plan which they required.
The event organiser Adam Mitchell will be meeting with various members of the Health and Safety Working group(HSWG) the Philippine Centre and Fiesta Suppliers to review and update the event plan so that an improved draft plan can be presented to the (HSWG)
It’s next meeting which will be hosted by Clare Griffiths of JLIS at the treaty Centre in Hounslow next week.
